Barbara Mather’s presentation will focus on her recent research with the first generation of young adults, growing up in the 1980′s and 1990′s with the official diagnosis of ADHD, who have been in the workplace for at least 2 years. Dr. Mather discusses her research on the challenges faced by young adults with ADHD in a structured work environment. How are young adults able to manage their attention, organization, structure, self-management, impulsivity, social skills issues to adapt to their workplace environments? What role does self-awareness play in successfully managing challenging work experiences. Barbara Mather, PhD is an expert in the area of ADHD in adults. In addition to her ongoing interest in helping young adults with ADHD in the workplace, she is an experienced management consultant in the area of organizational change and has owned a successful consulting firm since 2002. Dr. Mather works primarily with Fortune 500 companies, helping them to develop organizaional change management (OCM) and communication strategies.
